Hello, I’m Leah

I’m an experienced global health leader. Whether building organizations, conducting research, or sitting with community members, what motivates me is a deep desire to understand, and to connect across seemingly intractable divides.

About

What excites me about global health is the opportunity to think on a systems level. I am motivated by a desire to look at root causes, and to identify how unique parts intersect. I am fascinated by human behavior, and seek to understand why we have created the systems and structures we have, and how we might choose to create different ones.

I believe

  • Both people and systems have parts. If we want healthy systems, we have to be willing to be self-reflective.

  • Effective leadership starts with recognizing the innate talents and gifts each of us possesses.

  • Often solutions do not need to be created but rather remembered and/or lifted up.

  • Iterative processes work best when they are inclusive. There is deep wisdom in community.

“Leah is an excellent ‘big picture’ person. I often regard her as ‘the integrator’, combining the concerns of various stakeholders within an organization or across a supply chain to solve issues in the context of health. On the whole, Leah is an holistic and inspiring team leader that I would be honored to work with again.”
